My computer is crashing every 20 minutes so I'm having a hard time double checking to make sure that everything is correct.

It's been a year scince i took my astronomy class so this is all based on notes i took in class and on web sites to fill in the gaps

Hale bob which is moving at about 250 miles an hour with a ratio of roughly 2:1 the 2 being distance and the 1 being actual length. It is the ratio not the actual size that matters. The closest Hale Bob Ever got was 120,000 miles and it was visable for months afterwards. The central core was only 18 miles. [link] At about 9 The diameter of the earth is 12,756 so to immerse the planet for a day you would need the size of the earth times the speed of dust times the amount of time the dust is supose to encapselate the earth. The average speed of a commet is I think about 130,000 (I am giving this thing way to much credit the speed of that many objects would probably be lower due to collision contained within the cloud so it would be closer to astoroid belt speeds which is where it would have probably originated which is about 15,000 miles an hour, in fact it could be closer to the speed of hale bob for all i know)so the thing is going to be pretty damn big. Although I am assuming that dust cloud will last untill the last comet hits. I'll use asteroid belt speeds. it would be 360,000 a day for the speed. for a days worth of total covering it would be 360,000 times 12,756 which would be about 4,592,160,000 in just a day of encircling the earth nevertheless 10. size compared to the 50,000,000 of hale bob. Jupiter is 262,000 radius so a days worth of this cloud would be 1,000,000 the size of jupiter BOGUS
